Nevada defeats Utah State 62-54
RENO, Nev. -- Cole Huff scored a career-high 16 points as Nevada defeated Utah State 62-54 on Saturday night and went to 4-0 in the Mountain West Conference for the first time.
Huff made four 3-pointers, also a career high, in the victory for the Wolf Pack (9-8, 4-0), who won only three MWC games last season. Deonte Burton added 14 points and AJ West 11. The Wolf Pack was outrebounded 48-35, and though they only shot 41.8 percent that was 10 percentage points better than the Aggies (11-4, 1-2).
Jarred Shaw, playing in his second game since returning from a five-game suspension, led the Aggies with 19 points.
Nevada scored the last five points of the first half to take a 32-28 lead. The Wolf Pack opened the second half with a 13-2 run that left them up 45-30 with 14:26 left. Utah State wouldn't get closer than seven after that.
