Dartmouth clamps down on New Hampshire 62-48
DURHAM, N.H. -- Tyler Melville scored 16 points and Gabas Maldunas had 12 points and 13 rebounds as Dartmouth turned back New Hampshire 62-48 Wednesday night.
Connor Boehm added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the Big Green (5-4), which ended a five-game losing streak in the in-state rivalry, which is now tied at 32. Dartmouth shot 48 percent and had a 39-22 advantage on the boards.
Frank Okeke had 13 points to lead New Hampshire (2-8) and Patrick Konan added 12. The Wildcats shot just 32.6 percent.
New Hampshire scored the first four points before Melville fueled an 11-0 run. He started it with his 3-pointer, had an assist on the go-ahead basket and then knocked down another 3. The Green Wave led 25-24 at halftime.
The Wildcats took a one-point lead on a three-point play by Konan in the first minute of the second half before NH reeled off 12 straight.
