Wright State defeats Detroit 65-61
DAYTON, Ohio -- A.J. Pacher had 19 points, Matt Vest scored 16 and Reggie Arceneaux added 15 on Friday night to lead Wright State past Detroit 65-61.
Arceneaux's off-balance shot at the end of the shot clock gave the Raiders (16-13, 8-6 Horizon League) their largest lead of the game at 55-46 with 7:24 to play.
Vest led a key run in the second half by scoring eight straight points to give Wright State a 43-37 lead. It was the Raiders' first lead of the game and they would not relinquish it.
Evan Bruinsma had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Detroit (13-16, 6-8) which out-rebounded Wright State 41-26, but had 21 turnovers.
Juwan Howard, Jr. added 16 points and eight rebounds and his three-point play with 2:45 left pulled Detroit within 59-54
The Titans edged even closer, but never had the ball with a chance to pull ahead or even the score.
