MD-Eastern Shore beats North Carolina A&T 65-60
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Hakeem Baxter scored 26 points as Maryland-Eastern Shore snapped a 13-game losing streak and held on to beat North Carolina A&T 65-60 on Saturday afternoon.
Baxter shot 6 of 11 from the field and hit 12 of 13 free throws. KyRee Jones added 14 points.
The Hawks (3-15, 1-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) have grabbed all three of their wins at home this season.
Maryland-Eastern Shore shot 54.2 percent (13 of 24) at the half -- compared to 27.3 percent for North Carolina -- and took a 37-21 lead at intermission.
The Aggies went on a 19-6 run to climb back within two with 3:45 to go. A dunk and two free throws by Baxter kept Maryland-Eastern Shore ahead.
Richaud Pack led North Carolina A&T with 21 points. The Aggies (7-15, 3-4) have struggled in away games this season -- 13 of their 15 losses have come on the road.
