North Carolina A&T squeezes past Morgan St. 68-67
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Richaud Pack scored a game-winning layup in overtime as North Carolina A&T edged Morgan State 68-67 on Saturday night.
Morgan State (6-11, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led North Carolina A&T (7-13, 3-2) 33-29 at intermission, but A&T stayed within striking distance of the Bears and tied score at 57 down the stretch. The Bears and Aggies tied again at 59 with 1:27 remaining and both teams failed to score again before the end of regulation.
Lamont Middleton (26 points) sank four free throws to put A&T ahead in overtime, before Justin Black (19 points) landed a trey for Morgan State and the Bears trailed A&T 66-65 with 36 seconds to go. Black then hit a fall-away jumper for Morgan State putting the Bears ahead by one, but Pack followed with an Aggie basket and A&T led 68-67.
The Bears attempted another layup at the buzzer that missed.
