Kent State rallies for 62-61 win vs. Bowling Green
KENT, Ohio -- Devareaux Manley made a game-winning 3-pointer with less than a second remaining as Kent State rallied to beat Bowling Green 62-61 on Wednesday.
Bowling Green's Spencer Parker made two free throws with 8 seconds left, setting up Manley's heroics.
Kent State trailed 40-27 early in the second half but used a 12-0 run, with two Derek Jackson 3-pointers, to spark its offence and pull within 40-39.
Mark Henniger's dunk gave Kent State its first lead of the second half at 59-58 with 2:29 left. The Golden Flashes would not score again until the game's final shot.
Derek Jackson made five 3-pointers en route to a career-high 25 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, for Kent State (13-11, 4-7 Mid-American Conference).
Cameron Black and Jehvon Clarke scored 18 apiece for Bowling Green (10-14, 4-7). The Falcons opened the game on a 13-0 run and closed the first half outscoring Kent State 13-4.
