Davis leads Pepperdine over Pacific 80-69
MALIBU, Calif. -- Stacy Davis scored 24 points, including 11 of 11 from the free-throw line, and Pepperdine defeated Pacific 80-69 Thursday night.
Pepperdine's Brendan Lane was 7-of-7 shooting in scoring 18 points, and he blocked five shots. Malcolm Brooks added 11 points for the Waves (14-10, 7-5 West Coast Conference). The Waves shot 51 percent overall and were even better from 3-point range at 53.8 percent on 7-of-13 shooting. They were 23 of 30 from the free-throw line.
Andrew Bock and T.J. Wallace led the Tigers (12-10, 3-8) with 15 points each. Tony Gill added 12 and Khalil Kelley 10.
Pepperdine's biggest lead was 18 in the first half but led only 40-32 at the break. UOP got within four points with 5:20 left in the game before Pepperdine made eight unanswered free throws for a lead the Tigers couldn't overcome.
Pepperdine's seven conference wins are the most since 2003-04.
