Pepperdine Waves @ San Francisco Dons
San Francisco gets by Pepperdine 76-66
SAN FRANCISCO -- Kruize Pinkins scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and San Francisco turned things around in the second half, beating Pepperdine 76-66 on Saturday.
Mark Tollefsen added 16 points for San Francisco while UCLA transfer Brendan Lane led the Waves with 13.
Pepperdine (10-6, 3-1 WCC), was looking to go 4-0 in the West Coast Conference but started off-pace, however, the Dons started even worse, shooting just 25 percent. San Francisco (10-6, 3-1) trailed the Waves 27-19 at the break.
The Dons entered the second period with a little more intensity and an eye for the basket tying the score at 38 on a Pinkins' jumper five minutes into the second. Over the next seven minutes, the Dons upped that lead to 61-51 capped by a Matt Glover trey and held on to the finish, spoiling Pepperdine's attempt for its best WCC start since 2002.
