VERMILLION, S.D. -- Tyler Flack scored 16 points to pace South Dakota in its 86-52 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.
South Dakota (5-9) got 15 points from Trevor Gruis, on 7 of 8 shooting, and 12 apiece from Brandon Bos and Adam Thoseby. The Coyotes shot 51 percent from the floor, including 7 of 17 from beyond the arc, and held a 43-24 advantage on the boards.
Iowa Wesleyan, a Division III school, was led by Murray Schwengels with 13.
The Coyotes scored the game's first eight points and later in the half had a 15-4 run as they built a 47-29 halftime advantage.
An 11-point run to start the second half sealed Wesleyan's fate as the lead grew to 27 points just 3:21 after the break. South Dakota held the Tigers scoreless over the game's final 5:28.
