Manhattan downs Saint Peter's 64-49
RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Shane Richards scored 13 points Tuesday, including 4 of 5 from distance, and Ashton Pankey added 12 as Manhattan beat Saint Peter's 64-49, snapping a two-game losing streak.
George Beamon scored 10 and Manhattan (15-6, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic) outshot Saint Peter's 44.7 percent to 36. Michael Alvarado had six assists.
Pankey opened with a dunk, sparking a 9-2 run, and Manhattan pulled to a 14-point lead on a layup by Alvarado and led 32-20 at halftime.
Saint Peter's used an 11-2 run capped by a layup by Kris Rolle to close to within five points in the second half, but the Jaspers dug in and pulled away on treys by Richards and Beamon to lead by 15.
Marvin Dominique led Saint Peter's (7-14, 3-9) with 15 and Desi Washington had 10.
Inclement weather Monday forced the game to be rescheduled to Tuesday.
