BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Freshman Lamonte Bearden scored a season-best 23 points and Justin Moss added 18 to help Buffalo beat Canisius 72-57 on Saturday.
The duo only missed four field goals apiece, on 24 attempts, as Buffalo made 48 percent of its 60 field goals. Moss grabbed 12 rebounds and Bearden hit 2 of 3 shots behind the arc.
Bearden had scored eight points in each of Buffalo's first four games this season.
Rodell Wigginton added 12 points with seven rebounds for Buffalo (4-1).
Zach Lewis led Canisius (2-3) with 14 points and Phil Valenti added 11. The Griffins were held to 21-of-65 shooting (32.3 percent), including 6 of 25 from 3-point range.
Bearden had 12 at halftime as Buffalo led 34-19 after holding Canisius to 8-of-33 shooting.
