Quinnipiac gets by Manhattan with late run 73-59
HAMDEN, Conn. -- Ousmane Drame had 12 points and a season-high 19 rebounds, Zaid Hearst added 23 points and Quinnipiac pulled ahead with a late run to beat Manhattan 73-59 on Friday night.
The Bobcats (11-8, 5-5 Metro Atlantic) broke away from a 41-all tie to lead 64-49 with 3:12 left by shooting 8 for 12 from the field over a six-minute stretch.
Chaise Daniels and Evan Conti added 11 points each -- a season-high for the freshman Daniels -- and Hearst surpassed 20 for the seventh time in 10 games.
Emmy Andujar had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Ashton Pankey added 18 points to lead the Jaspers (8-10, 5-4).
Quinnipiac first took control with an 8-0 run to close out the first half up 32-22.
Manhattan closed the deficit back to 34-32 with an 8-0 run early in the second and later tied at 39 and 41 but never pulled ahead.
