Okereafor scores 28, leads Rider over Siena 80-68
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Teddy Okereafor scored 28 points and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds to lead Rider to an 80-68 victory over Siena on Sunday.
Siena led 42-39 with 15:24 remaining before Anthony D'Orazio scored five points to spark a 13-0 run and give Rider a 52-42 lead with 13:29 left. Rider's 9-0 run made it 66-48 with 6:25 to go, and the Broncs led by double digits the rest of the way.
Okereafor shot 9 of 13 from the floor, including three 3-pointers. D'Orazio finished with 12 points, five assists and three steals for Rider (4-5, 1-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Down 34-30 at the break, Siena opened the second half on a 12-5 run before Rider pulled away. Lavon Long scored 16 points, Patrick Cole had 15 and Rob Poole chipped in 12 for Siena (3-4, 1-1).
