Forbes and Evans lead IPFW over Stetson 87-76
DELAND, Fla. -- Steve Forbes had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Mo Evans had six 3-pointers with 20 points and IPFW beat Stetson 87-76 on Wednesday night.
IPFW (4-2) had a 14-point halftime lead and Stetson (3-6) pulled within 63-57 with 7:36 left, but the Mastodons scored nine straight and controlled from there.
Joe Reed added 10 points for IPFW which shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent (12 of 30) from 3-point range. Evans was 6 of 10 from distance and Forbes was 6 of 8 from the field.
The Hatters shot 52.7 percent from the field, but the Mastodons had a 12-4 edge on the offensive glass and 39-24 overall.
Angel Rivera was 3 of 4 from 3-point range to lead Stetson with 15 points. Cameron Harvey and Kentwan Smith added 14 apiece, Grant Lozoya scored 12 and Divine Myle 11.
