IPFW cruises to 80-46 victory over Judson (Illinois)
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Joe Reed scored 18 points and IPFW easily handled Judson (Illinois) 80-46 on Sunday.
Jure Gunjina and Brent Calhoun each added a career-high 12 points off the bench for the Mastodons (7-5), who broke a two-game losing streak.
The Eagles trailed by five midway through the first half when the Mastodons scored 10 unanswered points to begin a 24-7 run to end the half ahead 44-22. IPFW shot 60.3 percent in the first half while the Eagles hit just 31 percent, including 1 of 10 from 3-point range. Reed had 12 first-half points and Gunjina 10 for IPFW.
IPFW led by as many as 42 points after a 20-2 run in the second half and finished the game shooting 57.4 percent. They had just six turnovers.
Judson (2-13), an NAIA team coached by former IPFW assistant Joel Cotton, had 19 turnovers and shot just 34.5 percent.
