North Dakota State runs past Nebraska-Omaha, 64-57
FARGO, N.D. -- Lawrence Alexander scored 18 points to help lead North Dakota State to a 64-57 win over Nebraska-Omaha on Thursday night.
Alexander now stands in 10th place on the school career scoring list with 1,546 points, passing Brian Sand (1,540). Also, his 83 career wins passed Mike Felt for most in school history.
A.J. Jacobson finished with 15 points and Dexter Werner added nine off the bench for North Dakota State (16-7, 8-2 Summit League), which extended its home winning streak to 22 games.
Nebraska-Omaha (8-14, 2-8) led 42-41 with 12:31 remaining, but 3-pointers from Jacobson and Paul Miller bookended a 14-6 scoring spurt over the next 5:54 which gave the Bison the lead for good.
Marcus Tyus scored 21 for the Mavericks.
North Dakota State holds a commanding 45-28 lead in the series all-time, and is 7-0 against the Mavericks since they moved to Division I in 2012.
