Loyola Maryland Greyhounds @ Columbia Lions
Loyola tops Columbia 64-62 on last-second shot
NEW YORK -- Eric Laster's only basket of the night -- as time expired -- was the difference as Loyola (Md) topped Columbia 64-62 on Tuesday.
Columbia's Isaac Cohen made a 3-pointer that tied the game at 62 with 28 second left. After a trade of time-outs, Maodo Lo blocked Andre Walker's jumper but Laster ended up with the loose ball and beat the buzzer. After review, the basket stood.
Laster was 1 of 7 from the floor. Franz Rassman led Loyola with 16 points. Walker had 14 points, Tyler Hubbard added 12 points and Nick Gorski 11. The Greyhounds (2-4) shot 48 percent from the floor.
Lo led Columbia (4-1) with 22 points and Kyle Castlin added 13 points. Columbia was just 7 of 24 from beyond the arc.
Loyola trailed by three with 7:42 left in the first half, but an 8-0 run propelled them to lead 35-32 at intermission.
