San Diego runs away from Pepperdine 72-50
MALIBU, Calif. -- Johnny Dee scored 15 points to lead four in double figures and San Diego ran away from Pepperdine 72-50 on Saturday.
Dee had three 3-pointers and three steals for San Diego (13-12, 6-7 West Coast). Chris Sarbaugh had 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting, Christopher Anderson added 11 points and six assists and Thomas Jacobs scored 10.
Pepperdine (15-9, 8-5) shot 34 percent on just 44 shots and was 1 of 7 from beyond the arc. Jett Raines led the Waves with 12 points and eight rebounds and Stacy Davis added 10 points.
The teams started slowly and were tied at five after the first five minutes. San Diego woke up and built a 21-11 lead after a three-point play by Brett Bailey and Jito Kok's dunk and led 33-24 at intermission.
Dee's 3-pointer 4 1/2 minutes into the second half made it 46-34, and the lead hit 20 with 11:07 left on Marcus Harris' 3-pointer.
