Bowling Green edges Detroit at buzzer, 64-63
DETROIT -- Richaun Holmes had 28 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks, and scored the game-winner at the buzzer to lift Bowling Green past Detroit 64-63 on Sunday.
Jehvon Clarke hit a jumper to give Bowling Green a 62-61 lead with 1:08 to play. Holmes blocked Paris Bass' shot on the Titans next series, but the Falcons couldn't put it away when Jovan Austin missed a 3 with 10 seconds left. Juwan Howard Jr. scored to put Detroit up 63-62 with 3 seconds to play before Holmes scored the game-winning layup.
Bowling Green (4-0) led 54-44 at the 11:21 mark. But Detroit's Anton Wilson scored five points and Bass added eight during a 13-2 run for a 57-56 lead with 4:19 to play. The teams then traded one-point leads until the final whistle.
Bass scored 17 points, Howard had 14 and Wilson 13 for Detroit (4-3).
