MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Senior Austin Keel came off the bench to hit all six of his shots and 5 of 7 free throws to score a career-high 18 points in 16 minutes on Friday to lead Central Michigan to a 97-60 win over Concordia (Michigan).
Rayshawn Simmons added 15 points and Josh Kozinski 12 for the Chippewas (8-1), who were coming off a win over Northwestern, their first win over a Big Ten team since 2007.
Josh Fugate had 19 points, knocking down 6 3-pointers, for NAIA Cardinals (8-5)
Central Michigan shot 53 percent from the field and made 23 of 29 free throws. The Chippewas out-rebounded Concordia 47-26, forced 17 turnovers and blocked 7 shots.
The Cardinals led 15-12 less than six minutes into the game but the Central Michigan reeled off 15 straight points and raced to a 51-28 lead at the half.
