Willis scores 27, paces Ohio past Ball State 82-73
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Javarez Willis sank seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points and Ohio defeated Ball State 82-73 on Wednesday night.
Stevie Taylor added 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting off the bench with seven assists and four steals, while Maurice Daly Ndour chipped in 17 points and eight rebounds for Ohio (6-10, 1-4 Mid-American). Willis was 9 of 15 from the floor, 7 of 9 from deep and dished out six assists.
The Bobcats shot 61.7 percent overall, made 13 of 18 3-pointers and had 20 assists on 29 field goals in snapping their four-game skid.
Francis Kiapway led Ball State (7-9, 2-3) with 19 points, Jeremiah Davis added 12 with seven assists and Bo Calhoun had 11 points with 10 boards.
Willis made a pair of 3-pointers and Treg Setty converted a three-point play that helped Ohio move out to a 66-51 lead with 8:15 left and they coasted from there.
