HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Cole Murray came off the bench to hit 7 of 11 3-pointers for a career-high 21 points to lead Northern Kentucky to a 68-55 win over North Carolina A&T on Wednesday night.
After opening with two games at ranked Big Ten opponents, the Norse (1-2) returned home and made quick work of the Aggies (1-2), racing to a 33-16 lead. Murray knocked down 3s on three-straight possessions and with his career-matching fifth 3 late in the first half he had more points than the visitors as Northern Kentucky opened a 33-13 lead.
Northern Kentucky shot 49 percent, finishing 9 of 19 behind the arc.
Tayler Persons hit 6 of 9 shots to finish with 13 points.
Bruce Beckford led A&T with 19 points and Austin Williams added 10. The Aggies shot 40 percent.
