SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Ty Green and Fred Miller registered career-highs, scoring 29 and 25 points, respectively, to help USC Upstate beat Cal State Fullerton 79-64 in the Spartanburg Marriott Upstate Classic on Friday night.
The duo combined to make 16 of 28 (57.1 percent) field goals, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range, and had 10 assists. The rest of the SC Upstate (5-1) team was 10 of 31 (32.2 percent) from the floor and 3 of 12 from deep.
The Spartans went into the half trailing 36-33, but scored the first 12 points -- all by Miller (nine) and Greene (three) -- to take the lead for good.
Fullerton (2-4) shot just 34.8 percent from the field and made just 2-of-9 3-pointers while being out-scored 46-28 in the second half.
Lanerryl Johnson paced the Titans with 31 points.
