FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Jamail Jones scored 15 points and Florida Gulf Coast rolled over Stetson 72-50 on Saturday.
Jones was 5 of 8 from the floor -- including 3 of 4 beyond the arc -- and grabbed seven rebounds. Julian DeBose and Marc-Eddy Norelia contributed 12 points apiece. FGCU shot 48 percent and was 12 of 13 from the line. The Eagles enjoyed a 53-23 advantage on the boards and blocked seven shots.
Florida Gulf Coast scored the first basket of the game, never trailed and led by 10, 35-25, entering the break. Things got worse in the second half, as the Eagles' lead reached 20 on Nate Hicks' layup with 9:33 left.
Stetson was led by Kentwan Smith with 12 points and Divine Myles added 11. The Hatters shot 27 percent (15 of 56) and 4 of 23 on 3-pointers.
