North Florida beats Kennesaw State 67-51
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Chris Davenport scored 14 points with five assists and grabbed six rebounds as North Florida beat Kennesaw State 67-51 on Saturday.
Davenport was just 2 of 9 from the field, including a 3-pointer, but sank 9 of 10 from the line for the Ospreys (16-11, 8-2 American Sun Conference). Beau Beech added 13 points, Jalen Nesbitt had 12 and Dallas Moore chipped in 11.
Kennesaw State had a 27-25 lead at halftime but North Florida came out of the break to go 25-2 with the help of a pair of 3-pointers by Nesbitt, one by Moore and another by Trent Mackey to take a 50-29 lead with 11:41 to play. A 3-pointer by Beech gave the Ospreys their biggest lead, 56-34, with 9:06 left and they cruised to the win.
Nigel Pruitt led the Owls (9-18, 3-7) with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
