Lipscomb beats Jacksonville 87-83
JACSONVILLE, Fla. -- J.C. Hampton scored 22 points and grabbed eight boards to lead Lipscomb to an 87-83 win over Jacksonville on Saturday.
Josh Williams added 21 points and four rebounds for the Bisons (12-15, 6-6 Atlantic Sun Conference). Chad Lang had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Brett Wishon had 11 points.
Marcellous Bell sank a pair of 3-pointers late in the first half to lift Jacksonville to a 40-37 advantage at the break.
The Dolphins (9-20, 3-9) extended their lead to 52-45 early in the second half but Lipscomb responded with an 11-4 surge to tie it 56-56 with 12:07 to play. A pair of 3-pointers by Hampton and another by Williams helped put the Bisons on top 78-73 with 2:08 left and Hampton, Wishon and Nathan Moran combined for 7 of 8 from the line to clinch the win.
Kori Babineaux led Jacksonville with 25 points and 10 assists.
