The Citadel tops Toccoa Falls 71-58
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Ashton Moore made six 3-pointers and scored 20 points, and P.J. Horgan had 18 to help The Citadel beat Toccoa Falls 71-58 on Wednesday night.
Brian White added 14 points and 12 rebounds for The Citadel (1-2). Moore was 7 of 21 from the field, including 6 of 15 3-pointers.
Toccoa Falls (5-2), a National Christian College Athletic Association member, was led by Josh Barrett with 27 points. He was 8 of 16 from the field, including 4 of 7 from behind the arc, and made 7 of 9 free throws. Derek Westfall added 10 points for the Eagles.
The Citadel jumped out to a 16-0 advantage and led 38-17 with 2:15 left before Toccoa Falls closed the half on a 6-0 run to make it 38-23.
Toccoa Falls trailed by 20 with 2:29 left in the game, but scored the final nine points.
The Citadel dropped both games last weekend in the All-Military Classic.
