Tennessee Tech edges Chattanooga 69-67
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Torrance Rowe scored 18 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer late in the second half, to lead Tennessee Tech to a 69-67 comeback win over Chattanooga on Saturday night.
Trailing 43-26 at the break, Tennessee Tech (2-1) steadily closed the margin through the second half and took the lead on Rowe's trey during an 8-0 run that made it 68-65 with 31 seconds to play. Chattanooga (1-3) responded with a Justin Tuoyo dunk to narrow the gap but couldn't get any closer as Dwan Caldwell sank a free throw at the other end to cement the final score.
Charles Jackson added 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Caldwell finished with nine points for the Golden Eagles, who shot just 35 percent from the floor in the first period but averaged 50 percent in the second half comeback.
