Furman comes back against UNC Greensboro 71-64
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Devin Sibley scored 21 points and Furman used a big second half to overcome a nine-point halftime deficit and beat UNC Greensboro 71-64 on Thursday.
Geoff Beans had 15 points and Kris Acox added 11 for Furman (4-10, 2-2 Southern Conference).
UNC Greensboro raced to an 11-5 lead early as Furman made just two of its first eight shots. The Paladins recovered to draw within one midway through the half, but a 9-0 run by the Spartans helped them to lead 34-25 at the break.
Greensboro pushed the lead to 13 on R.J. White's 3-pointer almost 2 minutes into the second. Furman responded with an 11-2 run to tie it at 55 with 6:48 left. A 9-0 spurt -- including Stephen Croone's 3-pointer -- gave Furman a 64-57 lead with 2:24 left and the Paladins held on down the stretch.
Kayel Locke led Greensboro (5-12, 1-3) with 16 points.
