Kelley carries Sacred Heart past Campbell 71-62
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Evan Kelley scored 27 points and Sacred Heart continually found the hot hand to defeat Campbell 71-62 on Sunday.
De'Von Barnett added 11 points for the Pioneers (2-3).
Campbell was leading 25-19 with five minutes left in the first half when Kelley scored eight straight points to put Sacred Heart up 27-24. He also had Sacred Heart's next two points as the Pioneers built a 37-29 lead at the half.
Campbell was within two barely five minutes into the second half when Sacred Heart went on a 12-0 run to lead. Steve Glowiak hit a basket and then a 3-pointer before Barnett scored seven straight to make it 52-38 with 10:21 left.
Reco McCarter led the Camels (1-4) with 19 points, Curtis Phillips added 13 and D.J. Mason 11.
Campbell never got closer than seven the rest of the way.
