HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Devante Wallace and John Brown each scored 23 points to help High Point roll to a 72-61 victory over Charleston Southern on Thursday night.
Wallace was 8 of 13 from the floor, including 5 of 9 from long range, and grabbed 11 rebounds. Brown finished on 8-of-15 shooting with eight boards. Wallace scored 16 points and Brown added 10 in the first half as High Point built a 40-32 halftime lead.
High Point (11-4, 2-1 Big South) outrebounded Charleston Southern 38-25 and never trailed.
Aaron Wheeler converted a three-point play to pull Charleston Southern within 61-54. The Panthers answered with a 10-0 run to make it 71-54 with less than 3 minutes left.
Saah Nimley scored 18 points and dished out eight assists to lead Charleston Southern (7-7, 1-2). Will Saunders had 13 points, and Arlon Harper and Wheeler each chipped in 10 for the Buccaneers.
