UNC Asheville cruises against Liberty, 71-54
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- David Robertson scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead UNC-Asheville to a 71-54 victory over Liberty on Thursday night.
Andrew Rowsey added 13 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-7, 3-0 Big South), and Chudier Pal finished with 10 points and a game high 11 rebounds.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well from the field; however UNC Asheville hit nine 3-pointer, four more than Liberty, pulled down 16 offensive rebounds, and forced 17 Flames turnovers.
The Bulldogs took a 29-22 lead at the half. Liberty battled back to cut the lead to one midway through the second period, but a 13-4 UNC Asheville run quickly pushed the lead back to double digits.
David Andoh scored 14 points and grabbed six boards to lead Liberty (6-10, 0-3), who have lost three straight and four of its last five. Theo Johnson added 10 points for the Flames.
