Charleston Southern beats Coastal Carolina 83-72
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Saah Nimley wrapped a pair of 3-pointers around an Aaron Wheeler layup as Charleston Southern used a 10-0 run to shoot past Coastal Carolina en route to an 83-72 victory on Wednesday night.
Nimley scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half as Charleston Southern (15-9, 9-4 Big South) rallied. The win lifts the Buccaneers into a four-way tie atop the Big South and drops Coastal Carolina (17-8, 8-5) into a group of three just behind.
Nimley made five 3-pointers in the game. Will Saunders scored 18 points with four 3-pointers and eight rebounds, Aaron Wheeler added 15 points and Cedrick Bowen 11. The Bucs shot 50 percent (28-56) and drained nine treys.
Warren Gillis led the Chanticleers with 25 points, Elijah Wilson scored 13, Shivaughn Wiggins 11 and Badou Diagne 10.
Nimley, who's scored more than 20 points a dozen times this season, has 1,700 career points.
