FARMVILLE, Va. -- Quicny Taylor scored 25 on Saturday to help Longwood hold off Campbell 70-65 and secure the ninth seed in the Big South tournament.
Longwood (9-22, 5-13) will face eighth-seeded Presbyterian on Wednesday in the first round of the BSC tourney. Campbell, the 10th seed, will play UNC-Asheville or Gardner Webb.
Campbell (10-21, 4-14) made just 4 of 26 (15 percent) first-half field goals and trailed 34-15 at the break.
Curtis Phillips had 24 points and 4 steals -- both career-highs -- for the Camels, who shot 61 percent in the second and pulled within 64-63 on Andrew Ryan's 3 with 1:49 left.
Longwood made 6 of 6 free throws from there to seal it.
Taylor, who came into the game No. 2 in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.468), made 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.
Shaquille Johnson had 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals for Longwood, while Leron Fisher scored 12.
