Utah Valley Wolverines @ New Mexico State Aggies
New Mexico State thumps Utah Valley, 69-44
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Tshilidzi Nephawe scored 14 points and led five players into double figure scoring as New Mexico State ran away from Utah Valley State for a 69-44 win Saturday.
New Mexico State (12-10, 4-1 Western Athletic Conference) trailed for all of 30 seconds in the game. Utah Valley's Mitch Bruneel knocked down a 3-pointer 17 seconds into the game, but DK Eldridge answered it 13 seconds later, then hit a jumper for a lead the Aggies never relinquished. Bruneel dunked to knot the score at 7-7, but Daniel Mullings hit a 3 pointer and Pascal Siakam added a layup and New Mexico State began to pull away.
Remi Barry scored 13 points for New Mexico State. Mullings, last year's WAC Player of the Year, had 10 points in his second game back after missing 12 games with a broken finger.
Donte Williams had 17 points to lead Utah Valley (7-11, 2-2).
