Davidson tops UMass 71-63
AMHERST, Mass. -- Tyler Kalinoski scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half and finished with six assists as Davidson topped Massachusetts 71-63 on Wednesday night.
UMass closed the opening half with a 9-2 run, and Davidson led by just two points at the break. The second half saw five ties -- the score was 57-all after Kalinoski hit a 3 with 5:53 left to play. The Minutemen got in front once more, but Davidson went on a 10-2 run to lead by six with 1:32 left on the clock. Kalinoski went 4 of 4 from the free-throw line to end it, scoring 10 of the Wildcats' final 17 points.
Brian Sullivan added 14 points for Davidson (11-3, 2-1 Atlantic-10), and Peyton Aldridge and Jack Gibbs had 13 apiece.
Cady Lalanne led UMass (9-7, 2-1) with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
