Castlin scores 18, gets Columbia past Wagner 70-56
NEW YORK -- Kyle Castlin scored 18 points and four other Columbia players reached double figures Tuesday night in a 70-56 victory over Wagner.
Marcus Burton hit a 3-pointer to pull Wagner within six points, 53-47, with 4:27 to play before the Lions (1-1) closed on a 17-6 run to seal it.
Chris McComber had 12 points, Cory Osetkowski and Maodo Lo each scored 11, and Steve Frankoski chipped in 10 for the Lions, who shot nearly 48 percent from the floor. Isaac Cohen dished out five assists for Columbia.
Burton hit a jumper to give Wagner (0-2) a 4-2 lead at the 17:59 mark in the first half. The Seahawks did not score another field goal until Greg Senat made a layup with 11:31 to play in the first.
Corey Henson scored 15 points to lead Wagner.
