Tanksley, Hofstra roll over LIU Brooklyn 88-62
NEW YORK -- Ameen Tanksley scored a career-high 32 points and Juan'ya Green had the first triple-double in program history as Hofstra ran away from LIU Brooklyn 88-62 on Sunday at the Barclays Center.
Tanksley, who came into the game ranked third in the nation in 3-point percentage at 55.4, hit 5 of 11 shots from the arc and grabbed eight rebounds. Green scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Pride (8-4), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
The Blackbirds (4-7), who had a four-game winning streak end, were led by 14 points from Nura Zanna.
Tanksley scored 17 points in the first half when Hofstra took a 45-25 lead. Hofstra made 8 of 14 3-pointers in the half and 14 of 27 for the game. The 14 3-pointers were one short of the program record.
LIU opened the second half on a 12-4 run but Hofstra responded with a 10-0 run and later a 14-0 run to go up 29 points.
