Sacred Heart beats Mount St. Mary's 62-55
EMMITSBURG, Md. -- De'von Barnett scored 17 points to help lift Sacred Heart to a 62-55 win over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday night.
Steve Glowiak contributed 14 points, hitting all but one of his five shots from behind the arc, and Jordan Allen added 12 points to go with 10 rebounds for Sacred Heart (12-14, 6-7 Northeast), which shot 47.3 percent from the field to win its third straight.
Trailing by nine midway through the second half, Sacred Heart battled back, tying the game at 41 and again at 43 before edging into the lead for good with Glowiak's 3-pointer with 7:29 left.
Mount St. Mary's (11-13, 7-6) cut the gap to 52-50 with Byron Ashe's layup at 5:06 before the Pioneers pulled away with 3-pointers from Glowiak and Phil Gaeano and protected the margin down the stretch.
Gregory Graves led the Mountaineers with 14 points, while Kristijan Krajina and Ashe had 12.
