SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Emani Gant did not miss a shot from the field while scoring 18 points and Kavin Gilder-Tilbury added 11 points to help Texas State rout Division-III Texas Lutheran 72-31 on Wednesday night.
Gant made 8 of 8 field goals and was 2 of 5 from the line. Gilder-Tilbury finished with 3-of-6 shooting from the floor and made 5 of 6 free throws. Both Gant and Gilder-Tilbury had a team-high seven rebounds. Cameron Naylor and Ethan Montalvo each added nine points for the Bobcats (4-1).
Texas State led 37-28 with 13:33 to play before closing on a 35-3 run to end it. Texas Lutheran missed all 14 shots from the field in the final 13:18.
Josh Sanchez had nine points to lead Texas Lutheran, who finished 10 of 41 from the field for 24.4 percent.
