Texas A&M-CC pulls away from McNeese St, 71-61
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- John Jordan scored 22 points and dished out eight assists to lead Texas A&M-CC to a 71-61 victory over McNeese State on Saturday night.
Rashawn Thomas added 21 points and 15 rebounds, including six offensive, for the Islanders (6-7, 1-0 Southland Conference), who limited McNeese State to 37.3 percent shooting from the field and 6 of 25 from 3-point range.
After leading by just one at halftime, Texas A&M-CC took control of the game in the second period, putting together a 14-4 run midway through to build a double digit lead.
Desharick Guidry scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead McNeese State (6-8, 0-3), which has now lost three straight games, all by double figures.
Kevin Hardy added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Cowboys.
