Morgan State rallies past UC Irvine 63-62
BALTIMORE -- Donte Pretlow scored a floater off the glass for the winning basket as Morgan State came on late in a see-saw game to defeat UC Irvine 63-62 Tuesday night.
Cedric Blossom scored a career-high 22 for the Bears (2-8) and Pretlow finished with 10. Blake Bozeman and Kyle Thomas each scored nine points, combining for all three of Morgan State's 3-pointers.
The game saw 17 lead changes -- eight in the final 3:24. In the last 46 seconds Bozeman made two from the line for a 60-59 lead. Irvine's Jaron Martin hit a 3-pointer with 12.8 seconds left for a 62-61 Anteater lead, setting the stage for Pretlow's floater with just under four seconds left.
Irvine's Alex Young missed a layup at the buzzer but led the Anteaters (4-5) with 16 points, Martin had 11.
Irvine (4-5) was without top two scorers Luke Nelson (flu) and Mamadou Ndiaye (sprained foot).
