HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Juan'ya Green scored 24 points with 11 assists and Ameen Tanksley banged down all five 3-pointers he attempted as Hofstra defeated Wagner 93-71 on Sunday.
The Pride (3-1) trailed once by a point for 23 seconds, but soon built leads of 10 points or better which they maintained throughout, helped by 54.5 percent shooting and 10 3-pointers.
Tanksley, a perfect 5 for 5 from long range, finished with 17 points, Jamall Robinson added 13 and Brian Bernardi 11. Andre Walker blocked four shots.
Aaren Edmead led Wagner (1-2) with 15 points and Marcus Burton scored 13. The Seahawks made 28 of 64 field goals and just 6 of 27 3-point attempts
Green's 11 assists match his career best and are most for a Hofstra player since Dwan McMillan had 15 in February 2012. McMillan was on the Wagner bench Sunday as a graduate assistant coach.
