Eastern Kentucky clobbers Tennessee State 69-41
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Eric Stutz scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds as Eastern Kentucky clobbered Tennessee State 69-41 on Saturday night.
Corey Walden added 13 points with four assists and five rebounds for the Colonels (16-9, 8-4 Ohio Valley Conference). Timmy Knipp had 12 points.
Eastern Kentucky went up by 10 points early and finished the half with a 26-19 advantage.
The Colonels took it to 35-23 on a 9-4 run to start the second half and extended their lead to 21, 53-32, on a Stutz dunk with 6:55 to play. Jaylen Babb-Harrison sank a pair of 3-pointers in the stretch to seal the Eastern Kentucky win.
Tennessee State was 13 of 41 (31.7 percent) from the field overall, including just 1 of 11 (9.1 percent) from distance.
Christian Mekowulu led the Tigers (5-21, 2-10) with 16 points.
