Panoske lifts Milwaukee past Wright State, 61-58
DAYTON, Ohio -- J.J. Panoske drilled a 3-pointer with :04 left to lift Milwaukee to a 61-58 win over Wright State Thursday night.
Steve McWhorter hit a pair of free throws with 3:43 left to give Milwaukee a 58-51 lead, but Wright State rallied. Chrishawn Hopkins converted a pair of free throws and Michael Karena got to the basket for a layup to make it 58-55 with 2:29 left. Justin Mitchell tacked on a free throw and Hopkins hit the second of two free throws to make it 58-57 and Karena hit the second of two free throws with :22 left to tie the game.
Matt Tiby scored 24 points to lead the Panthers (13-16, 8-7 Horizon), but was the lone scorer to reach double figures.
Karena finished with 15 points to lead Wright State (11-18, 3-12), which now has lost 11 of its last 12 games.
