Keene, Youngstown State top UNC Greensboro 76-67
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Marcus Keene hit six 3-pointers to finish with a career-high 28 points, Bobby Hain added 20 with nine rebounds and Youngstown State defeated UNC Greensboro 76-67 Sunday in the Eastern Michigan Showcase.
Hain made a layup, two free throws and Shaun Stewart hit a 3-pointer to put the Penguins up 61-52 with 6:17 left. RJ White and Clay Byrd each made 3-pointers to pull UNC Greensboro back within three, but DJ Cole answered with a jumper and Youngstown State made 11 of 12 free throws in the final minutes to seal it.
The Penguins (3-3) shot 46 percent from the field, with Keene going 8 of 12. Shawn Amiker had nine points with 10 rebounds, and Cole had seven points while dishing out nine assists.
White paced the Spartans (1-4) with 20 points and 12 boards and Tevon Saddler had 11 points with five assists.
