Delaware comes back against UNC-Wilmington 70-59
NEWARK, Del. -- Cazmon Hayes scored 19 points and Delaware erased a 10-point halftime deficit to beat UNC-Wilmington 70-59 on Thursday.
UNCW trailed early, but used a 14-2 run -- including 3-pointers by Dylan Sherwood and Freddie Jackson -- to take a seven-point lead midway through the first half en route to a 35-25 lead at the break.
Delaware (8-18, 7-8 Colonial) used a 17-2 run midway through the second half, including eight points from Kyle Anderson, to erase the deficit. Marvin King-Davis then scored the first six of a 10-point run to bump the Blue Hens lead to 48-44 with 10:42 left.
The Seahawks (15-11, 10-5) never got closer, as they were 4 of 15 down the stretch. Craig Ponder led UNCW with 14 points. Jackson added 10 points and 10 boards.
King-Davis finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for Delaware, while Anderson added 11.
