Northeastern sneaks by Towson, 52-49
TOWSON, Md. -- Scott Eatherton scored 21 points on a perfect 10 of 10 shooting from the field to lead Northeastern to a close 52-49 victory over Towson on Saturday afternoon.
Zach Stahl added seven points, eight rebounds, and five assists for Northeastern (11-5, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association). Quincy Ford also had seven points for the Huskies to go along with seven rebounds.
Towson had several opportunities in the waning moments to tie the game. Four McGlynn missed a potential game tying 3-pointer with 10 second remaining, but a John Davis offensive rebound gave the Tigers a final possession. However Davis turned the ball over seconds later, clinching the game for Northeastern.
Davis finished with 11 points and five rebounds to lead Towson (8-9, 1-3). McGlynn added nine points off the bench for the Tigers.
After starting the season 7-1, Towson has now lost eight of its last nine.
