NORFOLK, Va. -- Jeffrey Short hit four 3-pointers and scored 19, and RaShid Gaston added 16 points, to lead Norfolk State past North Carolina A&T 74-60 on Monday night.
Norfolk State (12-9, 5-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 34-33 at halftime, but made 16 of 24 field goals in the second half.
Malik Gray made a 3-pointer to give the Spartans a 52-51 lead with 8:32 left before a 3 by Short started a 20-6 run to close the game.
North Carolina A&T (5-15, 2-4), which has lost 21 of its last 22 road or neutral-site games, made just 2 of 9 field goals and committed five turnovers in the final seven-plus minutes.
