TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- James Daniel III scored 20 points, including hitting 5 of 9 from 3-point range, to lead Howard to a 59-50 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday.
James Carlton added 14 points and 12 rebounds and Damon Collins finished with nine points and six boards for the Bison (9-10, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Defensively, Howard held Florida A&M to 35.7 percent shooting from the field, including 6 of 23 from 3-point range, and forced 15 turnovers which they turned into 21 points.
The Bison went on a 15-4 late in the first half and took a 34-22 lead into the locker room at halftime. They kept the Rattlers (0-19, 0-6) at arm's length in the second half, never letting them within six points.
Jorge Rosa led Florida A&M with 13 points. Quentin Bastian added 12 points and five boards.
